I’d like to inaugurate Copy&Paste Thursday with a link to an article about how imaginary property directly influences pricing in the publishing industry. Thankfully, a piece just came across my desk which describes delightfully how simple it is for robots with no actual market exposure to completely take over those same markets.

Sadly, this is just a microcosm of how large players in the real capital market operate gargantuan schemes which produce nothing at all beyond profits (which is to say, externalized losses.) I’ve always maintained that the real value of any digital work is exactly zero; It’s nice to see that understanding play out in the real world, even if it is simultaneously horrifying.
